July 2024 Showdog.com World Cup
TOTAL ENTRIES: 2,343
JUDGE: Gregg Merrill

BEST IN SHOW: *GCH* Seren Fach Fallen Angel
BREED: Bernese mountain Dog
HANDLER: Seren Fach Kennels
OWNER: Seren Fach Kennels
BREEDER: Seren Fach Kennels

Comments from the Judge: Congratulations on your breed win today, I picked this dog as my Best in Show winner. This female is very nice looking and has a great forward motion in her gait from her hind quarter and her forequarter is very nicely angulated and very correct in the foot placement. She has a little flare when she is in full stride moving forward. This female is slightly larger than most females I have judged but still in the breed standard and she is a little touch sensitive when feeling over the dog. Her coat is nice and soft, just a little rough but nothing that takes away from the picture of the dog in whole.

RESERVE BEST IN SHOW: Agamede Forge
BREED: Greyhound
HANDLER: Agamede
OWNER: Agamede
BREEDER: Agamede

Comments from the Judge: Congratulations on your breed win today, I chose this dog as my second pick today. This dog was very nice going around the ring a little fast from the owner but a very nice gait went around. As this dog places in the current top dogs to its breed, I chose this dog even if it is lacking in a few spots confirmation wise and temperament wise. This dog has a few flaws but as the breed is growing and coming back into focus as an established breed again this is one of the best dogs right now.

THIRD IN SHOW: CH Draig Surfer
BREED: Cardigan Welsh Corgi
HANDLER: Draig Cartref
OWNER: Draig Cartref
BREEDER: Draig Cartref

Comments from the Judge: Congratulations on your breed win today, I picked this dog as my number three today. He is a very nice looking dog, the short stubby legs as he moves around the ring show the power of this dog and what he was originally bred for. He has a very nicely shaped fore and hind quarter and when he is standing still he has a great freeze frame moment that allows you to take it all in.

FOURTH IN SHOW: CH Outrigger Gencho
BREED: Irish Water Spaniel
HANDLER: Outrigger
OWNER: Outrigger
BREEDER: Outrigger

Comments from the Judge: This dog was picked at number four today, this dog is very correct and has a lot of nice shining moments to this dog as a whole when in free stack. This dog does lack slightly in head carriage with the head being a little too high when the handler takes the dog around the ring, the forequarter is not very noticeable but a slight inward toe to the dog, the neck is also barely noticeable but a little pushed back in the neck, the coat is very nicely kept but a little short around the front feet, a little small for a male and touch sensitive when being felt over. Besides these little comments when looking at this dog today, I have chosen this male as a great example of the breed and what I am looking for in a sporting dog.

REMAINING GROUP WINNERS: From the Toy group we have CH Agamede Daybreak the Manchester Toy Terrier, from the Terrier group we have MNs A.Maxima the Miniature Bull Terrier and from the Non-Sporting group we have GCH Ztc. Juicy the French Bulldog.

BOBOH WENT TO: *GCH* Seren Rach Fallen Angel the Bernese Mountain dog, congratulations on the wins today in all of your rings. You guys have worked really hard this month and I can’t wait to write more about the two of you together. I do hope to see her again before she goes into the veteran ring. Congratulations!

BPUP WENT TO: CH Seren Fach Amber Blossom the Bernese Mountain Dog from Seren Fach kennels who is there up and coming female in hopes of reaching the same height of her showing competition Fallen Angel. Congratulations on the BPUP win today you two.

Did you know?
The figure 8 exercise requires the team to heel in a figure 8 pattern either on or off leash. Generally two of the ring stewards will assist the judge with this exercise by acting as "posts", standing 8 feet apart, that the team walks around to form the loops of the figure 8.
