I prefer Halti to collars. Collars I find are making my dog choke when he insists on pulling ahead and Halti works best but he finds it annoying and trys to loop it off by rubbing it against things. I've been using it on my dog for 2 months now and hes taking his time getting used to.

The only trouble with Haltis, Gentle Leaders, etc. is the safety issue. They're around the dog's head, so heaven forbid the handler should trip and fall, the dog's head will get snapped downward, leading to potentially fatal neck/spinal injuries.

Not only that, but the dog isn't really learning how to walk nicely on the leash in most cases. As soon as the Halti comes off, the dog starts pulling again. So it's really just a temporary fix to the problem.

I only use it for a temporarily time each day not for the whole day and its just training around the field no constant physical exercise with it on.

I prefer temporarily corrections to long term training because I was told numinous times by his obedience instructor that hes young and lively and even his instructor can't burn off that big rush of energy in him so he can never stop tugging on the leash so his instructor advised us to just get a Halti until hes used to not tugging and work it up from there.

Well i think a choke chain is good for obedience and training but not to use as a full-time collar.

When the dog pulls, the collar suffocates. In my opinion, braces are the best for short walks. If your cakes have a problem, I can't walk on a loose leash, I recommend a harness that has a leash fastener at the front. The moment your dog tries to pull, it will automatically turn towards you and learn when not to pull. I also recommend exercising with your dog: as soon as it begins to pull, you stop and chill to stop.

Did you know?
A specialty show may be regional or national. A "Best in Show" win at a national specialty show is tremendously prestigious, indicating that the winning dog or bitch triumphed at a contest which attracted entries from the most serious fanciers of that breed in the country or continent. Some specialty shows attract international entries.
