Nope, no sled dogs in my household, and *gasp* DO own a car! I say About and ya wouldnt be able to say if I was Canadian or not when visiting the states wink ;)

Beer drinking, doughnut (the correct spelling BTW) eating, flannel shirt wearing "hosers".
Mounties
beavers
skidoos
While the Americans will allow us credit for the invention of ice fishing.....basketball... well, they've claimed that.
You should do a posting on the "US" and "UK" forums and get if right from the horses..um ..mouth.
Sorry, I lived in the states for years.

Ah, yes, Bacon! "Canadian Bacon" or Back Bacon here. Its a less fatty bacon and is NOT ham.

You can have toothless hockey players anywhere wink ;)

Hey, I'm not a lumberjack, or a fur trader....
I don't live in an igloo or eat blubber, or own a dogsled....
and I don't know Jimmy, Sally or Suzy from Canada,
although I'm certain they're really really nice.

I have a Prime Minister, not a president.
I speak English and French, not American.
And I pronounce it 'about', not 'a boot'.

I can proudly sew my country's flag on my backpack.
I believe in peace keeping, not policing,
diversity, not assimilation,
and that the beaver is a truly proud and noble animal.
A toque is a hat, a chesterfield is a couch,
and it is pronounced 'zed' not 'zee', 'zed' !!!!

Canada is the second largest landmass!
The first nation of hockey!
and the best part of North America

My name is Joe!!
And I am Canadian!!!

Should be able to get some from thatwink ;)

Funny isn't it?
That beer commercial took more (usually quietly patriotic) Canadians to their feet than the national anthem!
I AM Canadian!

My Husband has a funny story from when he was a teenager.

He was working on a cattle ranch in the interior of BC during the summer. This ranch was so far out that the owner wouldn't drive there, he would just fly in in his little plane. The outdoor temperature was about 30C/85F, and the ranch hands were all lounging around on the porch of the one house. And they see down the drive, a monstrous RV towing a Jeep.

After about 25 minutes, the RV finally gets turned into the drive (hard to get something that big through a cattle gate), and makes its way up to them. The man pulls up, stops, rummages through the RV to find his shoes and steps out the side door.

And asks, "How do you get to the ice bridge?"

Seriously? The ice bridge? In August? Not likely.

So the poor guy had to drive the 6 hours back to the highway and make his way back home because he was an idiot and came to see the ice bridge in the middle of summer.

I am not a factory worker.
I do not play hockey.
I do not drink beer.
I am not a second rate pseudo American.
I am not poor.
I am not ignorant.
I live in a city larger than most American cities.
I do not own sled dogs.
I do not live in an igloo
I do not know anyone who makes or eats maple syrup.
My children do not skate.
I do not own a ski-doo.
Newfoundlanders (Newfies) are not Canada's answer to the hillbilly.

Here is one that goes around literary circles. "1 in 10 Americans can read a well written book. 1 in 10 Candadians write good books."

I personally do not see how anyone could relate Canada to igloos... but perhaps I am just missing the point. Igloos to me would be in Antartica or some other out of the way place.

I was disappointed with Canada on my last visit though. I did not cross over a large "border line" and my atlas is misleading since Canada was NOT purple.

Don't deny the "eh" part now, I have heard several people from Ontario use that lovely little two letter word. wink ;)

The song "blame Canada" does come to mind, however. wink ;)

Did you know?
In the American Kennel Club, a dog needs 15 points to become a Champion, with each win gaining anywhere from zero to five points depending on the number of dogs competing and the area where the show is held.
