on sunday I ventured out to a show with my 2 gsps, knowing I was going to show at least 3 GSPs and a golden

Well - my Edge :

won dog challenge (same as winners dog- but against champions and grandchampions as well as untitleds) this was edge's first show in 7mths and only his 2nd this year- both times he has had dog challenge- first under a japanese gundog/sporting specialist and then again yesterday

my friends golden retriever "Gossip" :

won best of breed over 16 other goldies at only 16mths of age

and then I handled a labrador "Roxy":

to runner up best of breed with a large supported entry

this was under mr S mcdonald from Philadelphia Usa

thanks for letting me show off my doggies and letting me brag

thanks envoy

He's pretty special- his breeder lost all their dogs in the bushfires here february last year- so he is very special for them too

Yesterday he split the off show side outside nail on his front foot- a darn good one too and fractured it all around the outside- hopefully he will be right to be shown in 2 weeks time- if not- hopefully by late september for the largest dog show in the southern hemisphere

Wonderful GSP and gorgeous lab. That lab is such a nice combo of our labs here, which seem to decidedly be splitting into show/work lines. Hope somebody imports some, haha!!!

this post has been edited 1 time(s)

The golden retriever is Emperosgold Idol Gossip- and the labrador is Taykemehome Shoe Chewer- if memory stands me right- she is the top bitch lab in the country (was top lab for a fair chunk of the year) and her father Ch Greatlands magic touch (who I handled for the first 12 mths of his career) is top male in the best of breed pointscore- only being beaten at all breeds level at this stage

No 1
Taykemehome Shoe Chewer (VIC) (Carol Duke) (418)
No 2
Aust Ch Greatlands Magic Touch (VIC) (Carol Duke) (413)

Best of breed pointscore so far on www.dogzonline.com.au
by looking at that site you will be able to see what we have here

Roxy and Gossip are the same ages (both 16mths old) and Roxy is from Carols first ever litter- she currently sits on almost 300 points (all gained this year- while magic is fast approaching his thousand at 2 1/2 years old

thought I would do an update- on Friday last week- my little GSP girl prada:

won puppy in Group under Mr H lehtinen (finland) we won a lovely black sash with gold writing and a portable floodlight happy :) Prada is almost 11mths

we also won a 25pt (35 entry) Best of Breed under the same judge with Magic

who went on to shortlisted for group, Australian Bred in group and AUSTRALIAN BRED IN SHOW (880 entries) under Mrs R Raita (Finland)

On Saturday, Magic again got another 25pt Best of breed under mrs Raita- this puts him within 145 points of his Australian Grand Champion title at only 2 years of age- he is also currently top winning labrador in Australia

Thanks for letting me update my brag

This weekend- on saturday I got Best of Breed GSP with Pointsure Thunder Zed (who is being mated to Edge at christmas time:

and Pippa the labrador (totally different lines to Magic and Roxy- I actually prefer her type over roxy and magics

the weather and grounds were atrocious- I actually pulled a hamstring in the tiny rings that were ankle deep in mud- it was torrential rain for most of the day

Sunday they moved us into the carpark and the rings were smaller again= definately not intended for gundogs!) I had a terrible time sunday morning as Prada had pressed the central locking in my caar at home and I had to wait for an hour for a mobile mechanic to turn up- got to the show just in time to show Zed- and she bombed bad- my nerves and rushing really threw her- but Pippa went bob labrador again and shortlisted in final 3 for best in group- she ended up best australian bred in group happy :) Ill attempt to get photos of pippa next time I see her happy :)

Edge and Zed will be mated late this year- then a pup from that will be used with Prada as both bitches have lovely fronts, necks and effortless fluid ground covering movement (which is first and foremost important to me)

here is a pic of Edge and Zed standing together last weekend- the person that edited the leads out made Edges neck look stuffy though

this will be a very exciting litter as both dogs have correct movement- although Zeds is more stylish
*Zed has a better length of muzzle than edge- but Edge has better width and more stop
*both dogs have nice necks, and lovely short bodies
*Zed is a little over angulated- Edge a little under
* Edge has a lovely chest, zed could do with more

That and they are line bred about 5 gens back- and they both have lovely calm temperments

darn this post is going to get long and photo loaded if my weeks keep up like this!

Yesterday:
Arkasam Buster (Zeds sire) was Dog challenge (he won dog challenge when Zed won breed to, so I thought I would put his pic up here to be fair to him!

I also won reserve challenge golden retriver with a different bitch to Gossy (Gossy wasnt there)

handled 2 Irish Setters

I showed a new baby GSP as well and ather first show, she was shortlisted in final 2 for baby in group. she is out of a half sister to Zeds mum- by a half brother to Edge! if this is what they get out of that mating- cant wait for Edge x Zed- Winnie is only 13 weeks- photo Taken yesterday
