Unless the COI is over 15%, it does not. However if it is over 15%, it affects the SOPs of the pups (in most cases negatively). COI is calculated based on how much the pedigrees of the parents is similar - the more similar the pedigrees, the higher COI is in the pups. It's employed to prevent inbreeding (pups from the same litter/parents to their pups).
