Hey guys,

The Mentors of SD is now open for GENERAL MENTOR applications.

You need to be able to:
- help with very very new newcomers
- be able to explain anything from buying your first dog to breeding your first bronze merited dog
- explain the ins and outs of showdog
- direct a newbie to the relevant help pages
- answer any and all questions, if you are unable to do so you should be able to either find the answer yourself or direct your mentoree to someone who can help
- you may be a general mentor and a breed specific/source breeding/colour breeding/graphic mentor as well, but take this into consideration as we will allow you to have a maximum of 3 mentorees from all categories, if you would like to specialise in one then please wait until applications for that post open
- make an effort to be present in the beginner forum, by directing newbies who would like a mentor (if applicable) to either Creed or I or simply by helping them as a one off yourself
- if you no longer wish to be a mentor, contact myself or Creed asap
- if you would like to move a mentoree to someone else please come to Creed or myself and we will organise the situation accordingly
- if you mentoree is rude or doesn't acccept that you have a life or breaks one of the SD rules (without attempting to fix it, i.e. 2 basic accounts) you should have evidence of trying to politely deal with this and then passing it on to either Creed, I or Jeff

I'm pretty sure that's it for T&Cs, if there are any additions all applications who have been selected as mentors will be messaged. By posting a filled in form you have agreed to commit to all of the terms above.

C) Which (out of the defiant rations) is universally agreed to be the worst?
D) How many resets has Showdog.com undergone, and for what reason?
E) Can basic users use banners?
F) How many adult dogs are a basic user allowed to own?
G) How many kennels are basic users allowed to have on showdog?

Yes, once we've got on our feet with general mentors and the website we'll begin accepting applications for colour breeding/source breeding mentors.

Member Duration (How long have you been a member?): 2 years (July 2011...which seems like a lifetime ago)

Any Goals (What goals have you set for yourself for SD? These can include previous goals you have achieved.):

Raise the LH & SH Dachshund SOP to finishable (still not there, but we're workin' on it).

Have a homebred CH in every breed.

Breed every single color and pattern combo of Dachshunds (almost there!)

If chosen, how can you help as a SD mentor (Self explanatory): I used to be a mentor in Getting Started in SD when luckydogwhisperer was doing it back in early 2012. I've always like helping people and have served as mentor at my camps for two years now. I also help mentor three young writer/bird watchers on a large blog. I'm dedicated to the game and know or can easily figure out color breeding genetics (I'm a color breeding freak...I've got color breeding projects in most of my breeds). I'm currently #2 in the Community and if I had more sales, I could easily be #1 hehe...if that counts.

Over 3 years.

Previous achieved goals include raising the over all SOP's of Bullmastiffs and increasing the player base for them. Completing a Bronze Sire in Bullmastiffs.

Helping 3 breeds that where at the bottom of the breed popularity list. The breeds where:

Anatolian Shepherds (now 97 on the list)
Lagotto Romagnolo (now 157)
Norwegian Buhund (now 132)

Current Goals include color/source breeding Brittanys, color/source breeding German Pinchers and increasing there players.

If chosen, how can you help as a SD mentor (Self explanatory):

I can teach about breeding, increasing SOP, food rations, sessoning, how to manage money, over all kennel management and other basic SD things.

If chosen, how can you help as a SD mentor (Self explanatory): I am always willing to answer questions. I also have knowledge in many diffrent breeds, and diffrent projects including color breeding. I have experience with making graphics, as well as many other things.

I'm just curious if everyone is submitting test forms also. I personally have not received any.

Also, don't forget that you can also nominate someone you think is suited for the job.

-World Cup Best in Show (achieved)
-Top Great Dane breeder (achieved)
-Top German Shepherd Dog breeder (achieved)
-Top Dobermann Pinscher breeder
-100 Champions (achieved in two different kennels)
-Best in Show (achieved many times, probably over 30 times)
If chosen, how can you help as a SD mentor (Self explanatory): I can help with newbies, understanding the game, all aspects including feeding, sessioning, showing, finishing, how the shows actually work. I can help with color breeding and graphics as well, just generalized help.

5 as I don't believe demand is too strong right now. However if the mentors feel overwhelmed or we start to fill up a little bit I think we'll open applications again.
