Can anyone who would like to share tell me does the food you have your broodies on make a differance and what formula do you recommend would love everyones opinion on this

For broodies I feed a 1171 ration. It is high in fat and low in everything else. It's $2.90 a day. To save money I feed puppies 1171 for 10-11 days and then switch to Pet House for Puppies and then Pet House for Adult Dogs when appropriate. Doing this gets my girls' condition up to 20 by 30 days.

I feed the same, almost. 1141 (2.40) until 14 days then I switch to top dog condition. They are well over 20 by welping day.

I don't usually feed my broods anything special, I throw them on pet house for most of the time. However I usually end up forgetting to change my dogs over from puppy to adult rations - if I realize I've done that or a brood's condition is lower than what I find normal I'll throw them on a 1171 for awhile.

I do a 1151 and then top condition or pet house - depending on how high they are when I remember to change food

So are you saying you just need to get there condition to 20 and then maintain it you don't feed a special ration while pregnant or after whelping

No. Once condition is a solid 20, PetHouse Adult keeps them there and they are fine for breeding - nothing special is required.

I also just use a 1171 Puppy to day 14 then go to PetHouse for breeders only.

One of these days I'm going to do some experiments with these various rations and compare costs - one of these days (lol).
