Welcome to the Two Birds with One Stone Barktober Bash event!


Prize: $100 or $300 per dog.

This contest gives awards to all dogs who achieve an obedience title during the contest period. However, extra merit will be given to dogs who achieve both an obedience title and a conformation title!

Rules
-You can enter an unlimited amount of dogs.
-The dog MUST earn both titles WITHIN the time frame given.
-Depending on how many dogs achieve titles, I may up the prize money. Also, the dog with the most points (one prize for GCH points, another for Obedience points) at the end of the event will earn a little extra.
-You may enter dogs all through the event.

This'll need amending as SD doesn't allow us to attain UDX just CD/CDX/UD

Lots of us have CH's/GCH's retired now working towards obedience titles - how about some Barktober competition to recognise the fact that we've kept our oldies and are competing with them - say a competition for number of retired dogs (must be CH's or GCH's already that gain obedience titles within the month?

Opps, my apologies! I'll go edit that and the one entry in now, unfortunately I haven't competed in SD obedience before so I'm completely clueless. .-.

Also, I've been considering that as well. I'm thinking of perhaps altering it so that any dog who advances titles in both categories within the time frame would receive a prize? (So if a CH becomes a GCH as well as going from CD to CDX it would be awarded.)

But I'm not sure about the retired part. Do you think just awarding people for gaining obedience titles would work?

Entry acknowledged, I'll edit it in once I've got a few more to do with it.

I keep my CH's/GCH's after they've reached 120 days and retire them but concentrate on obedience. I'd be neglecting these partially trained dogs if I started new dogs in obedience just for Barktober.

Obedience needs all the encouragement it can get so I'm happy with whatever, maybe any dog gaining an obedience title as long as it already has a CH or GCH title should get some reward, a dog gaining both CH/CD or CH/CDX or CH/UD or a dog gaining GCH/CD or GCH/CDX or GCH/UD should be further rewarded.

I'm sure I can find some candidates to enter.

Also have you decided about obedience titles on dogs already CH or GCH? My GCH achieved Bronze status today and has been started in obedience. he should (prays to the Obedience doG) gain his CD title tomorrow.

Also, I have decided that I'll be awarding any dog who gains an Obedience title during Barktober as long as they had obtained a GCH prior to the event. However I will still be awarding dogs who obtain both a conformation and obedience title as well.

I'll decide on exact rewards in a few days once I get an idea of how many dogs this will be applicable to.

I'm updating the thread with listings, my apologies for being a bit slow.

Also, I have decided to award any dog who achieves an obedience title during the contest period. Depending on the title and whether or not they also achieved a conformation title I will calculate the prize money.

I'll have to do check and double check through my kennels - think I have about 12 dogs across the kennels who have gained obedience titles during Barktober, half of them gaining duel titles, will check and send links.
