May 30th Show Result Roundup
Rossetts End Of May All Breed Show Entries: 1032 Judge: Helen Crippen Judges Comments: As a judge I mainly am looking at a good headset, a strong neck, nice topline and feet. I want a dog to look confident and majestic while moving around the ring and I want them to have a nice picture frame of their breed standard in a free stack position. I want to see the owners handling their dogs and I have a slight preference for bitches over dogs. Best in Show today went to GCH Solcintra Sunshine Daydream, the Gordon Setter. Purple 9 Entries: 483 Judge: Ruth Langham Judges Comments: When I was pickling my winners I wanted a good clean gait, I want to see a lovely gait that makes each dog stand out on their own. Card all breed 70 Entries: 398 Judge: Johnnie Robison Judges Comments: My winners had everything I was looking for. I was looking for a strong forequarter and hindquarter on each dog paired with a great gait. I wanted to see power coming from the dogs as they traveled around the ring. And having a nice picture moment in their free stack. While they are stacked I would like to see their height and size be close to the breed standard as close as possible. Best in Show went to MVK over Hills, a Cream Irish Wolfhound. This is his first Best in Show win for him. Handled by Roxanne Leatherwood for owner and breeder Mahoning Kennels. Wink all breed 54 Entries: 398 Judge: Daniel Hall Judges Comments: I picked my winners with a main focus on their gaits and their feet. I find that the solid base for the dog in their feet prove that they will be versatile in their original purpose and I want to see an elegant gait as they move around the ring showing off their overall breed traits and proving themselves as the closest to the breed standard. I prefer bitches over dogs in the ring but I am not overt to dogs in the winners circle. I do tend to pick breeds I have judged before or breeds I have picked as winners before. Best in Show went to a Golden Brindle Tibetan Terrier named STL Queen. That is a best in show win at her second show, at her first show she placed 3rd in group! She was handled by Julie Patton for owner and breeder STL Kennels. She is the #23 Tibetan Terriers and I am excited to see her at future shows and when she is of age, her offspring. Come to the Keys III Entries: 392 Judge: Lazaro Carilo Judges Comments: As a judge I am mainly looking at each dog's gait, coat and size/height. I want each dog to trot around the ring showing their breeds powerful and striking gaits. I want to see a flowy coat while each dog goes around the ring and when coming to a free stack I would like to see them stay within their breed standard size and height. I prefer dogs over bitches in the ring but I am not overt to genders in the winners circle. Best in Show CH Parhelion Cruel Winter, the White and black Dalmatian.
