I'm having a bit of a rough year, both financially and healthwise, so I'm not doing much in the show ring right now. HOWEVER, AKC has a pretty neat program called "FIT Dog," which bestows titles on dogs and their people who walk a lot (and do other things). It's not terribly expensive (at least compared to conformation) and could probably serve as a springboard for people getting into AKC companion events. I've got one dog who's completed his FIT Dog Bronze--we're just waiting on the paperwork.

I got a Novice Trick title on one of my Cockers through them which the Canadian Kennel Club recognized TKN.
Then, we did a fun one, walk 5 K. Nice rosette

The titling primarily consists of walking for certain lengths of time for a certain period, although group walks, AKC "fitness related titles," and FIT Dog training classes can also be used for points. You just need to have a reliable way to record your walks, add up the number of points for the title, and submit the proper paperwork with the fee.

I am trying Fit! We are working towards my boy's Fit Bronze, BCAT, and CGC Did you also start with the Spring Scurry for some points?

The Canadian Kennel Club has something similar called FETCH.
I don’t know much about it but it’s about chasing and retrieving a ball/kong non squeakie toy.
It’s not something my girl bothers with so I’m not looking into it further.

I have to brag about 2 of the puppies we bred.
Standard Wirehaired Dachshunds.
I’m also in Canada so, CKC titles.
One boy, besides being a Grand Champion, has his NTD, Scent Detection and his Versatility Novice titles.
The other boy, also a Grand Champion, has his NTD and Instinct Barn Ratting titles.

I’m very proud of these boys and their owner.
