Hi, I'm back after a couple months hiatus, can someone give me the info for the new Gold/Silver etc Grand Champion points status? How many points do you need per level? If there's an Admin post on the subject can anyone tell me where to find it? Thanks in advance!

Actually, no one seems to know. I have dogs that I am pretty sure should be Silver GCH that are listed as Gold GCH - come to think of it, I don't think I have seen a Silver GCH.

I would really like to know myself.

I believe the silver and gold medals are backwards. If you look in the breed forums, it says silver.

I asked Jeff and he said he is going off of the AKC rankings but needs to change them.

So far I have it down to:

Bronze - 100 points
Silver - 200 points

I'm assuming gold is 300 and platinum is 400 but cannot confirm. happy :)

Yeah, it looks like the Gold GCH award is going to both the Silvers and the Golds.

AKC is:
100 Bronze
200 Silver
400 Gold
800 Platinum

By this we would only have 13 Gold GCH and no platinum in SD. Perhaps that is what he is trying to decide about lowering the gold and platinum levels.

If the platinum level was at 300 and 400 respectively there would be a total of 13 Platinum GCH and 48 Gold GCH's which sounds right to me.

Although if the number for Platinum was 500 we would have only 4 Platinum GCHs. That may be more realistic.

My Dalmatian went gold a few days ago. She is 119 days old... I know it should be silver but I'm just proud of her getting 200+ GCh points.

Did you know?
The two largest American dog shows after Westminster are the National Dog Show (which is televised on Thanksgiving Day by NBC, usually after the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade) and the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship.
