I can't wait to see who it is that has created some if these shows. The names are HILARIOUS.
![]() The fact someone(s) would spend kennel money to create shows just drawing on the fact of family accounts and "greedy" kennels. The audacity of some players to actually pay to play ![]() I will definitely edit and update after the shows run. May be an ongoing thing lol. To be continued, or should it be next time on SD? |

Drum Rolls, this just in: Greedy Kennels show sponsor: Pooh98 Wow, I was surprised by this. Long running Gordon Setter Breeder ranked #22 in the game currently. I know I have seen MULTIPLE BIS WINS FOR THIS BREED AND THE PLAYER. Perhaps the greedy kennels SHOULD NOT Donate payouts? I know I won't be for shows this breed tends to do highly well in! --------------------------------------------- This show: IfYouNeedAFamilyAccountToFinishDogsBreedBetterDogs unfortunately does not open correctly to see the sponsor. However: BIS: Gordon Setter: Player:Pooh98 bahahahaaaaaa Oh That's HILARIOUS. My Point above proven already!! |

I thought it was interesting that the one about family kennels was impossible to open. Tacky... True but tacky. There are some kennels which seem to have an unlimited number of dogs and some kennels which seem to have an unlimited number of versions of that kennel name. It is frustrating. I just wonder if the creator decided to cancel that show or if there was a problem behind the scenes that canceled it. Or did it actually run? |

Seeing how individuals interpret the name of the show is intriguing. I{/b] sponsored the show in question. No clue what's up with the glitch. Couldn't pick handlers or click into the show. If I had used the term Super Kennels, I think We'd see different reactions. Just some reminders/observations.... If you have a family kennel with multiple kennels in the same breed, each kennel should be operated independently. Example: Kennel A enters dogs with handlers under a handler preference judge. Kennel B enters a bunch of no handler dogs to build points for their other kennel's dog. This is acting as a cooperative and is clearly not within the stated rules of the game. Example: You have one premium kennel in a breed. You create multiple basics to sell your dogs to and actively use basics to show dogs. Each player is allowed one basic. So yes, if you pull these kind of tactics..... you really should just breed better dogs so they can finish on their own. Also, I sponsored the upcoming show "Super Kennels Are Lazy" If a show name triggered something within your psyche, I highly recommend some quiet meditation and journaling to figure out the why. I suspect that the length of the name is the reason the show glitched. It happened once before, and once again the name was extremely long on that show. At least that is my theory. |

I agree. The show ran with no hiccups so that is a win! |

Firstly, thank you all for the activity and response on this thread. I'm certainly not bothered by what someone's perception may be of my multiple kennels with various stages of a same breed. Should you actually wonder why that is, you are more than welcome to ask here or in private messages. With that said, I'll refer you to the following help articles as well on restrictions and limits between kennels: https://www.showdog.com/help/topic.aspx?id=70 https://www.showdog.com/help/topic.aspx?id=81 -------------------------------------------------- There are hard restrictions on how much business one kennel can do between the others, unless you have done additional business equaling a certain % etc above that with kennels OUTSIDE OF YOUR OWN. Essentially, there isn't a "super kennels" issue. If you find that difficult to understand. I will be happy to help clear any confusion up. -------------------------------------------------- On the additional note of players throwing handlers on x amount of dogs and then throwing additional not handled dogs in shows: I have seen this by seasoned 20+ year long players as well. Everyone has their strategies and it seems some hostility on this game. Which frankly, I don't care for the negativity. Some breeds are more competitive than others. I get it. ------------------------------------------------- This is what I typically do when planning any dogs in shows. Feel free to offer your opinion or advice if you feel inclined to do so. ------------------------------------------------- #1 - I typically plan 1 dog, 1 bitch in a show, it may be a pair like that across all shows available on any given day. Other days I will put everyone in owner handler shows as they are available. #2. I then wait out however long to the evening before each show. IF NO ONE ELSE has planned their dogs accordingly, YES, I will in fact, see how many of my young ones may be ready, sometimes I throw them in when they are all on the same stat gain. Why do I do this? : I have given time to the other breeders to plan theirs. : Just because others have not planned theirs, should I in fact not have competition for mine to point AND to sort out which ones that are up and coming best to keep? : I will also note, when there are other breeders planned, yet they do not put multiples in to show and point theirs, I have IN FACT Put some of mine in for them to point. :This particular breed: Australian Shepherds, we do have multiple breeders. Some with only 1-2, others with MANY. There have been MANY TIMES Once I am off the game before reset, that MULTIPLE BREEDERS WILL ENTER last minute 1-2 dogs and throw handlers on theirs to go over mine that are NOT handled ![]() : Any additional curiosities or questions on MY style of play, again, you are free to ask here or in messages. ------------------------------------------------ Lastly, I'll remind everyone, this is a game. It is intended to be competitive and fun, not hostile and bitter. Naming shows and trying to call players out WITHOUT EVER SPEAKING A WORD WITH THEM, is just negative, tacky and frankly unwarranted. |

I will point this out because I 100% disagree with this style of show tactic: Yes I will call Lanakila out on this. It is one thing to plan a pair etc. It is another to block most of the shows and the handlers majority of the time. Just in an attempt to Hold the #1 spot or have most of their Dogs if not ONLY their dogs in the SDWC. Yet, to look at this players account, they would like it believe it is OTHERS doing this. https://www.showdog.com/shows/show_entries.aspx?show=Good%20Better%20Best%20All%20Breed%20104&breed=Australian%20Shepherd ------------------------------------------------ This is exactly the hostile play I am referencing in this breed and across some others I had purchased some males in, pondering to get involved in those breeds on my other accounts. Needless to say I finished the dogs and forever homed them after getting some hostility from those breeders I had purchased from. |

quoteThere's also an easy solution to finish dogs by alternating which gets their two majors, then moving onto the next one before finishing any of them. Just need the amount for 3pt majors for each sex. Once all have their majors, finish as it goes. This works well for those in unpopular breeds or with very few breeders. It's when people put ALL of their entries into one show that go over the 5pt major requirement that increase the requirements for the next month that irritate me. There are also people who don't put handlers at all, and others enter and do put handlers. I've done that. Doesn't mean I'm working with them, just means I want my major. |
