Nope, I've been Black Friday shopping and found the deals weren't THAT great to wait in the huge lines for check out...it was fun, though, to see the madness!

I'm surprisingly familiar with Mexico(I spend about a month in Jalisco state every year to spend time with my husband's family), so I'm vaguely familiar with the area you're talking about. The town I stay in could be considered "in the middle of nowhere" also, with many of the residents not wealthy enough to have a lot of modern conveniences. But, if you go in any of the larger cities, it's a very familiar place with the same technology and trade that you'd find in the US.

No, I've never been told a color doesn't look good on me. The only color I don't find flattering on me is yellow, but I don't own anything yellow

Nope. I've got low tolerance for heat! Plus the only other place I've been other than here is Italy and there weren't any deserts there, haha.

I don't think so, but maybe? I've probably seen one, and just not know who they were. Like if I saw Green Day or OneRepublic something, I've heard of them but wouldn't even notice.
