I'm very happy to announce that today my old boy

GCH Yarrow Blue Labyrinth (Mudi) gained his CD title

with

181.0 (4 pts)
182.0 (2 pts)
182.5 (7 pts)

He's currently top Mudi for GCH points with 107 so if I can finish him through to UD I'll be so happy.

Obedience entries seem to be levelling out at around the following for each class

Nov A - 10 entries - only 10% qualify
(I've noticed the same dogs still competing in this class without EVER qualifying so I can only assume they are entered but not trained!)

Nov B - 7 entries - at least 50% qualify

Open A - 6 entries - 30% qualify

Open B - 5 entries - 45% qualify

Utility A - 2 entries - 50% qualify

Utility B - 8 entries - 50% qualify (note as there is no higher class or further award to work for, once a dog has qualified UD it stands to reason that it can compete every day without further training and qualify ie just amass points)

I wonder if we should have an award for top pointed UD titled dogs? Any thoughts?

Congratulations to all kennels who have gained titles recently - lovely to see dogs excelling in both conformation and obedience.

this post has been edited 1 time(s)

Would be nice to be able to amass enough points to maybe gain a title for say, Obedience Champion. So instead of being UD at the end of the name of the dog it would be OC at the end instead.

That's a brilliant idea! How many points would be needed - 100?

Would be interesting to see what the other obedience people think.

Just added up my top obedience dog's points and she has amassed 196 points not including her first three UD passes.

Would be interesting to find out what some of the past UD dogs points totals to get a idea of what sort of total they should have to achieve to get an Obedience Champion title.

I had too many (good) obedience dogs entered yesterday - I got results saying my dogs were affected by the handler having too many dogs entered! My UD dogs (Q every day) all got NQ across the board - I'm gutted!

I have a question - for the UD, what does the category Scent 1 & 2 refer to? I keep getting NQ in that, but my dog has a 20 in Scent Discrimination. Am I missing something??

Did you know?
An obedience trial is a dog sport in which a dog must perfectly execute a predefined set of tasks when directed to do so by his handler
