Yes - my coworker was getting rid of some cross stitch kits and I took them home. I didn't think I'd like it so much, but it's a great mindfulness activity, if you don't mind the occasional needle poke. An SD related question for the person below me: who's your favorite handler in the game? ![]() |

Maret Gentile. I knew a lady named Grace Maret (may have been spelled differently) who had an impact on me, and that reminds me of her. Plus she's a good handler. What color are your eyes? |

My eyes are light brown! Do you consider yourself more introverted, or extroverted? |

Introverted as I need time alone to recharge. What are your top 3 favorite scents/smells? |

Something to do with breeding and training dogs for a purpose such as personal protection. And nope I'm not doing that at the moment (need more time, experience, currently live in a highly unpopulated region lol and would have to move) What are your feelings toward cottage cheese? |

Cottage cheeze - enjoy it once in a while. What is your view regarding long tails on traditionally docked breeds? |

If the breed standard calls for a docked tail, a reputable breeder should be expected to dock tails on all their puppies. I'm a bit wary of breeders who leave long tails on traditionally docked breeds, especially if the breed is prone to tail injuries when left natural. Similarly... how do you feel about the ethics of ear cropping? Is it legal in your country? |

I'll try to make this short. It's a personal decision, and it's not that big of a deal either way, so long as if it's done by a veterinarian under anesthesia if it is done. It's not any different than removing any other body part of dog, as the dog knows no difference and he is the one we are doing stuff to for our own desires and preferences. I've read stories of ripped ears, dewclaws, broken tails, and it's not pretty. So everyone kinda decides based on their own experiences. I love natural ears and cropped ears on all breeds; both serve their own purpose. I used to look down on people who didn't crop or dock, but I don't anymore because it doesn't do anything except represent the breed (Corso, specifically) in a traditional appearance. Just because it doesn't look traditional, doesn't change anything about its genetic quality. And if you trained your eye well enough, you can look past the ear. Too long, didn't read: Not necessary, but definitely not cruel or barbaric if done by vet. What is your favorite and least favorite coat color of the breed(s) you have? |

To answer your question - my beloved Rhodesian Ridgeback passed in December and he was red wheaten so I'm partial! I like all coat colors on Ridgebacks but I'm not a fan of excessive white markings beyond the chest. To the person below me - what's your favorite body of water to visit? (Lake, pond, beach, I'd love to know.) |

Re the ear cropping, when I was a kid we lived in Australia and got a Boxer pup, Velvet. His tail was docked but ears not cropped (I believe it was illegal). When we brought him back to the US everyone told us he was not a purebred. This was in the mid 50s). Of course, he definitely was. Now I believe that the ear cropping is a personal choice. They have such beautiful faces when the ears are not cropped. A lot of dogs I think (though I haven't been to shows in many years) now have the ear cropping as a choice. |

quoteCandle Lake, SK & Okanagan Lake, BC are my two favorites. One has purple sand and one has a monster. Are there other domesticated animal breeds you love and what are they (e.g. horse, cat, rabbit, pig)? |

quoteI would have to say horses, cats and rabbits/bunnies. I have worked with horses and raised on a ranch with them with a little over 500 head of cattle. I have run across my fair share of both rabbits and bunnies since working in a shelter setting in Montana so I have learned to have some skills and was looking to teach some kiddos how to show them at some point a few years back. Cats have been a newer addition since i used to be allergic to cat hair, I can now say i am not allergic to shorthaired cats but still get pink eye from long haired cats. |

Gem Crest, I am with you with the scents. I have a mug that says "I love the smell of jet fuel in the morning" and one of my favorite words is "petrichor" which is the smell after it rains. Add to that dog paws and horse sweat and the smell of a horse eating an apple... |

quoteFila Brasileiro - interspecies aggression/fight drive is acceptable and desired (if one lunges at a judge in show, that's normal lol) I like guardian dogs but for me they need to be at least neutral toward strangers, not offensive. Prob would never get a Boxer on purpose - for health issues, particularly epilepsy and heart issues, plus my breed (Cane Corso) has been associated with Boxer-type heads which is incorrect but was super successful in shows for a while and I guess I associate the Boxer with negative, plus I've met a few and they were all nuts lol prob just not enough training and exercise. Sorry I gotta re-form my question: Are there breeds of other domesticated animals you like in particular, like with dogs? |

quoteI love Ragdoll cats, and Appaloosa horses! Do you live in what you would call your "dream home"? For example for me I do not live in my "dream house", not to say I'm not happy in it but it is not technically my dream. |

quoteSame! When there are just some scents that you get used to when your tiny they stay with you for so long and never change. I love the smell of fresh rain more than anything but when you live in a high desert climate it is hard to enjoy the smell when it's few and far between. Anything horse related just adds some extra memories due my roots on a ranch so that holds some extra love there as well. Love that we can agree on these smells. |
