this post has been edited 1 time(s) Borzoi now have a model thanks to the generous help of Cloud Nine Springers. So far everyone that has posted is on board with the chart and the percentages. Based on the diversity of colors regionally and the fact that there are so many different possibilities that can occur in the breed, we've agreed that each base color should be given a 5.88 percentage. The various markings however would need to be left up to the sim if at all possible, as there are over 4000 possible color/marking combinations. Otherwise each potential color would only have a .025% of occurring. Ok, I am not in the breed on here but I had an email asking about colors so I will post it here. I have no idea how to make these charts, nor would I ever want to LOL. But, Mastiffs come in a few simple and main colors. Fawn, w/Black Mask Apricot, w/Black Mask Fawn Brindle, w/Black Mask Apricot Brindle, w/Black Mask I think for the game those are all that anyone really needs to be concerned with. These colors come in varying degrees from light to very dark. There are also black Mastiffs and pied Mastiffs but those to are on the very rare end of the scale. The brindle can go from soft to so dark they call it a black brindle, but it still has an under color of fawn or apricot. It is considered a serious fault with AKC to have a dog of any of these colors that lacks the dark ears or mask (and of course noses are always black). Good luck, if someone wants to tackle this. They have asked for help in the Mastiff forum and not sure they have gotten it or not. If it has already been done, just ignore me being looney. |

Edit: Isabella in German Pinschers does not have rust coloured markings. They are solid fawn coloured. Reds are solid red, no markings. |

Combined with the Merle gene, produces the Harlequin coat pattern. Present in all Harlequins and some whites. May lay "dormant" in black/Mantle dogs. h = recessive allele present in all normal (heterozygote) merles and most all Danes. I used the genetics by JP as well. How come you didn't participate in the thread I started in the breed forum?  I sent an email to everyone asking for opinions/info/help and only one person replied via email but wasn't regarding genetic structures. *sniffles* Thanks for posting that though, made it a little bit more simpler.
