Yes, I just felt like a mini challenge - buying a couple low SOP girls from a closed kennel, to reintroduce an old line to freshen up bloodlines (rather than using starter bitches) and dragging them up to present levels. Has taken quite a long time, but has been worth it. The coat was an unexpected side benefit. Now to get that coat going in DenKees happy :)

The puppy gods have smiled a bit. Have a lovely male pup, but he couldn't have full SS could he.

SS of 19.8, with real SOP 96.50, adjusted SOP 96.60, but he has a 9.9 coat!

He is a very nice boy happy :)
I do like what Dangerous Lord has sired so far, he has not got 10 coats yet, but has sired a couple of very nice 9.9 coated boys. Hoping when he meets some of my 9.9 coated girls coming up soon, I might get some more 10 coats.

All I need to breed now please - are some female puppies over 96.35, the next barrier I need to break.

Hoping the puppy gods are listening!

I finally got a good pup (was stuck in the 96.35-40 range).

But I got this girl yesterday...

www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=14468991

And Let It Reign, the first dog I've tried showing in a while finishing in three shows, so happy with that too!

Still need to catch up on naming pups, etc, but some progress being made.

Congrats to all the good results from everyone!

Congrats Lycaons, she is a very pretty girl.

I understand where you are coming from. I had been stuck in the 96.20-30s for a long while. I now have gained two lovely male pups in the 96.60 real and adjusted SOP range, although I still have to get into that range in females.

Here's hoping there are more nice puppies in the near future for you.

It seems like, with a very few exceptions (like that 96.7 girl I bought off Analeyn), most of us have been stuck in that 96.2-96.4 rut for a bit. Glad to see that its starting to end for most it seems happy :)

BTW am I the only one, who when I see our thread at the top of latest topics thinks to themself "I bet those other breeders are all like 'there goes those crazy keeshond folks again!'"? Maybe? Yes no? LOL. Clearly its past my bedtime.

Congrats on the wonderful dogs everyone is producing! That's awesome happy :)

The fact that our thread is at the top of the latest topics is my favorite part of being involved with this breed. I like being able to chat with you guys. It's why I chose this breed to work with upon my return. Bring on the chatter lol

Haha, we may be quieter for a few days, but never for long! And Ive been involved in SD on and off for 9 years now, always in keeshonds, and its kind of odd- No matter WHO the breeders are, its always been like this. The community thread is new, but even with other boards were starting to go quiet and dead, keeshond breeders always talked in our forums.

Ch Just Dont Ask, who is to the best of my knowledge the highest SOP'd boy with that 9.8 gait, will be going up for stud tomorrow evening. Just a heads up in case you have any bitches coming into heat in the next 24 hours you might want to use with him. happy :) www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=14404861

Edit: He is now open for stud! Step right up! 9.8 gait here. He's got the strut! Cmon ladies!

I've gotten a couple more nice pups, what is high SOP right now? I don't think I'm there, but glad to see my boys are starting to produce well.

96.55 boy www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=14476125

96.60 boy www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=14480204

I also went through my kennel and looked at what i have as the best # in each stat, it's been a while since I've done that. Here's what I have... (Not all the same dog of course!)

Head - 9.8
FQ - 9.5
HQ - 10.4
Gait - 9.7
TNB - 9.7
Coat - 9.8
Size - 9.4
Temp - 9.6
Feet - 9.5

If anyone else is interested in doing it, I'm curious as to what everyone else has!

Ahhh... I'm in heaven right now! I had my first big show wins since I came back, produced 2 really high sops, and finally feel like I am catching up, even by a bit, to everyone else.

96.7 male www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=14482249
I found him not to long ago so I'm still at the 'I adore you, you're the epitome of greatness' stage of excitement, but his stats really are rather fragile, both by way of 9.5s and by patchwork parents (rather then mostly homogenous parents that attempt to both amplify and solidify certain traits.)

96.6 female www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=14482262
Also not found that long ago but she is more solid, and thus even more exciting! *starving zombie look* i want to show her... but I don't think I'm financially stable enough to train more then one dog at a time.

Top stats:
Head: 9.8
F/Q: 9.6
H/Q: 10.3
Gait: 9.7
TNB: 9.7
Coat: 9.8
Size: 9.5
Temp: 9.7
Feet: 9.3

This is very true. In all the eras I popped in, the Keeshond community always had a warm, relaxing quality to it, this time around is no exception. ^_^

He is a lovely boy good stuff happy :) and a very nice girl to go with him.

I am still waiting for my first girl over 96.35 in either kennel, at least I have some nice boys now.

This boy will be going up for stud soon, 96.25 SOP with a 9.9 coat.

www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=14410570

And this boy has produced two very nice 9.9's despite being low SS and only 96.20 adjusted SOP.

www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=14379956

The coated dogs are gradually catching up - when I got the 9.9 coat in the breed they were way behind in SOP.

Ok, my numbers:

Head: 9.8 like everyone else.
Coat: 10.0! (thanks Aussie!)
FQ:9.5
Size: 9.5
HQ:10.3
Gait: 9.8
TNB: 9.7
feet:9.4

Now if I could only get all these stats on the same dog...

Highest bitch SOP: 96.7 (from Analeyn)
Highest homebred bitch SOP: 96.5
Highest dog SOP: 96.50
