Spyte, I feel your pain. Ive been FH'ing most pups, and the few that I have been sessioning i feel are barely fit for teh ring, but I do it so that Im showing SOMETHING. Since Get Lucky, I've gotten one other 95.45 dog...and thats about it for SOLID show quality, the rest are mostly questionable. Ive gotten rid of most of my breeding bitches and brought in new ones, just waiting for them to age up. I have a TON of them.

I am breeding my oldies one last time. If I don't get anything I am going to stop breeding for a bit and let my new babies hit breeding age and start again essentially.

Yet another entire low SS litter, seem to be having a rash of them.
Two not bad bitch puppies - but both low SS.

www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=13929788
Theoretical SOP 95.20, but has 18.9 SS and real SOP of 94.35

www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=13929789
Theoretical SOP 95.15, has 19.8 SS and real SOP of 95.05.

Have to decide whether to keep one or not. But have not had a lot of luck breeding low SS bitches.

Ive given up on anything low SS and gone back to not keeping or breeding anything under 20.

Low SS dams brought some strong traits into my kennel which I think really worked for my lines. However, I seem to be keeping less and less with low SS - largely do to the fact that mostly all of my puppies are coming through with full 20's.

I wouldn't discount it entirely, but then each kennel has different luck with their own strategies happy :) I found that it did help and will certainly continue to consider traits above SS happy :)

Ive got 5 litters to hit the ground between now and Tuesday. Ive got fingers crossed! Especially after i finish sessioning the currently sessioning batch, I have nothing waiting in the wings. Then all my new broodies will be old enough to start producing in the next 2 weeks.

Didnt we collectively have a breeding rut around the middle of 94 SOP as well?

Yes yes we did. I remember finally hitting that 95 mark was so glorious! Hopefully we will get out of this rut soon.

this post has been edited 1 time(s)

Three more litters whelped -- 3 more litters FH'ed .... sad :(

Total of 6.

Except for one 95.10 male up for sale, although his SOP is not great. Will FH also if no one wants him.

Finally a nice surprise this morning!

www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=13940251

Kind of sad though. Out of a litter of 5 pups- the next highest SOP of the bunch was 94.15. Lame. Guess all the good stats got used on this lovely girl!

New stud, I added him to the "fore" list. He's 9.2 fore, but also has 9.1 size and feet.

Yeah, we did lists for studs with good fore, good feet and good size. The theory is to help out when you don't have time to search every dog but want to work on one trait. I know sometimes I just use the best in my own kennel if I don't have time to search. The lists make it a bit easier.

If anyone is working on a different trait, feel free to start up a list for that!

Did you know?
A specialty show is a dog show which reviews a single breed, unlike other dog shows, particularly conformation shows, which are generally referred to as "all-breed" because they are open to all breeds recognized by the sponsoring kennel club.
