I added some payouts and a specialty on the 23rd of April. My highest is 95.35, so I'm not too far behind! Though this one is the boy that's not showing well. I have a 95.3 also, another boy. I was on a trend of the boys always being better until my last couple of litters, when it was finally the girls! |

I did finish my first home bred dog yesterday! Which was good because my litters weren't too thrilling... But, the CH made me happy! |

Well done! ![]() Gypsy - I took a Best In Group tonight also. I'm not sure if she'd place a Keeshond higher but I will keep her in mind ![]() Analeyn |

Just put up a new stud for $25. His SOP may not be much to look at, but he does have a 9.4 in the forequarter that we may find useful- I have not seen a higher FQ yet in my kennel. www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=13830778 |

Just FH all but one pup out of two litters. And still debating whether I keep him or not. Real SOP 95.15 (19.1 SS) - theoretical SOP 95.60. Nice pup, except for the SS factor. www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=13904707 |

this post has been edited 2 time(s) Just in case anyone is interested, I have put two more boys up for stud duties - $50 fee. www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=13834833 www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=13831254 Update: I have forwarded 2015 Keeshond results to SD Chronicle. I think they are correct, but someone may like to double check when they go up, in case I got something wrong. I haven't sent the top SOP details, as I think there is now higher than my girl who is 95.55. I will try and dig out 2014 details for the Chronicle while I am on holidays. ----- Last edited by Aussiewolfsister on 3/31/2015 11:33:50 PM |

I still can't help but wonder why Keeshonds haven't placed Best In Show yet? I had another Best In Group tonight, this time under Linda Schubert, and I have had multiple 2nd In Show/3rd In Show wins (other kennels too) Despite all of our efforts we cannot seem to take BIS! It's a goal I want to accomplish with this breed so I guess I'm just frustrated ![]() Analeyn |

this post has been edited 1 time(s) I agree, I got a Best In Group yesterday under Deborah Walker with Star Dreaming. We are getting closer. I think we still need to get more improvement on some of the other traits, especially feet. A lot of the judges have feet listed as high or very high, and most of the Keeshonds are lacking a bit there. I notice that the feet are improving in some of the lines now. I am having a bit more "in show" luck with my Buhunds, collected another 4th in show today, but can't seem to get beyond several 3rd in shows with that breed. ----- Last edited by Aussiewolfsister on 4/2/2015 3:29:47 AM |

I agree. I had another BiG under Maria Mohr a few days ago. But we cant seem to crack the BiS barrier. Although I gotta say, in all the time Ive been a keeshond breeder in this game, this is the closest to a BiS placement we've ever been. I remember when even a 3rd in a group was a reason to celebrate because it didnt happen often. |

I've been working some on feet in my dogs (along with Fore and Size, since those three traits tend to be weakest in my dogs). I just put this boy up for stud, 9.2 in feet and fore. www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=13838673 Would it be helpful for those of us working on specific traits to have a separate post for "good feet studs", one for "good fore studs", etc? Sometimes I just don't have time to go through every dog listed when I'm looking for a specific trait so I just use the best in my kennel. (Though I did just look through for "feet" studs, 9.2 was the highest I saw unless I missed someone). |

this post has been edited 1 time(s) That's worth thinking about. I must find a nice girl for your 9.2 feet boy. ![]() Another complete litter FH'ed ![]() ----- Last edited by Aussiewolfsister on 4/2/2015 9:38:09 PM |

If I remember, there were 3 9.2 feet boys up for stud, I used mine since he hadn't been tried yet (and has the good fore), but there were a couple more out there. Of course, I can't remember who! |

A lovely breeding breakthrough ![]() 95.75 ![]() www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=13916961 I also had a 95.60 dog too from a different litter ![]() The highest I've had in feet is this bitch with a 9.3 www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=13868803 I will definitely be looking for stud options for her later on. I think the traits threads are a great idea. Individual ones for Size, FQ and Feet might be useful. But I do think there should be minimum trait requirements. For instance, 9.2 is a standard FQ trait number now, and I only consider 9.3+ to be great. Size and Feet are much the same - 9.2 and above is good. Analeyn |

Congrats on your pups!! I agree about having a minimum number for those stats we need to work on. I haven't looked too close at all three traits, but I think 9.2 is a good place to start. And as things improve, we can certainly up the standard. I know it'll help me when I'm trying to do a breeding quickly (with 5 kennels, sometimes I'm in a time pinch! LOL). |

I started one for feet, see if you all like it and we can start ones for the other two traits. I don't have any 9.2 or higher size boys right now. And my only 9.2 fore boy is also my feet boy so I'll list him there too once that one gets started. |
