Still plugging along over here. I had forgotten how slow it is to get back into the game. Not having a whole lot of breeding success.

Big congrats to both kennels in the previous posts, you are doing so well.

I'm going as well as Gypsy Wind - struggling to get any pups past their parents SOP.

Fingers crossed for you too! He is producing well so you're likely to produce something nice. Best of luck!

I hope Ard brings some stuff to the table for you... and Aussiewolf if you need help I'd love to supply a nice male or female for you when I get one.

To Dragunov - thank you happy :) - I shall keep your kind offer in mind. My highest SOP is 94.25 at the moment, and I have been breeding some pups around 94 to 94.25 for a while now.

My luck is not holding with the Show Shine factor. My last litter had a dog pup at 93.35 and 18.3 SS. Had the pup had 20 SS, it would have had 94.50 SOP. I have just realised that I may have FH some useful pups with good traits and low show shine (slow learner I am, I think).

Anyway I am keeping this one for breeding, even if he is not much good for showing, and will also try that breeding combination again.

I would also be more than happy to help anyone if needed. This is still a relatively new kennel, so I don't have many litters, but I will still endeavour to help if anyone should need it.

Aussiewolfsister: I say this with the friendliest intent - I think that puppy of yours has a suspected SOP of 94.20 rather than 94.50.

As for the 94.20's - I believe these are still finishable! Winter Heart has some lovely dogs showing currently that have taken majors, some of which are in that SOP range.

On another note - House Of Cards has been producing very well (94.65, 2x94.50, 94.45 & 94.40) Thank you to all of those who have used him so far and congrats on your results!

Ooops -- you are quite correct -- I miscalculated somewhere, Maths was never my strong suit.
I have almost finished sessioning a 94.20 in Teshub, and he will be showing from now on.
I am going to send one of my girls to House of Cards very soon, and thank you for making him available for breeding happy :)

^^^^ I picked up a major with the 94.05 I'm working on for that matter...

No problem, I suspected as such and just thought to point it out. happy :)

Yes, I have seen some of your dogs doing well in the show ring too, now that I think about it. My comment about finishing was only to reiterate that no one should be discouraged by higher SOP's because the 94's+ are still very competitive happy :)

Line breeding is still dull, as its really a minimum of 30 days between generations. Honestly, its so slow to come back to the game, I cant help but wonder why people start to come back and lose interest again so quickly. And we have one of the more active breeds! Im just...getting bored....again...

I agree many thanks to Analeyn for making her boy available for breeding at such a good fee.

Luck is still out -- results of my latest litter Teshub x Hatepuna.
The only pup over 94 had 19.4 show shine and 94.10 sop. If my calculations are correct (this is me doing the calculating) - she would have been 94.40 with 20 SS.
Here is hoping for much better results for the House of Cards litter when the pups arrive.

Did you know?
Judges are generally certified to judge one or several breeds, usually in the same group, but a few "all-breed" judges have the training and experience to judge large numbers of breeds.
